Every new location we visit has a story of its own. We travel to explore and for work. A traveler gathers unique experiences and relishes it time and again. If not all, many travelers narrate their experience through writing. I am one of them. Because...

Today the #XploreBharat Blog Train has come to Mahdya Pradesh at from Ahmedabad which was travelled with Sthuti Panigrahy Singh (

We are all set to visit Panchmari in Madhya Pradesh

Panchmari a quiet, pristine hill station. Kilometres of curvy roads with trees on your either side, from one hill to another takes you to Panchmari @ 1100 m. On the way, you will notice is the sky, dense vegetation, and silence. There is no scope for suspense, as you hit the road you know you are heading into nature’s lap.

As you arrive at the hilltop of Panchmari, drop in temperature is evident. A best opt for your summer vacations. Typical features of a hill station like waterfalls, lake, adventure sports, horse riding, and sunset point are all a part of Panchmari making it suitable for all age groups. The historic sites are mesmerizing; compelling you to think of the time way before you were born. A common question that will cross your mind is - is it a truth or a myth; keeping you wondering. Section of this beauty is taken up by the Indian Armed Forces and rest is left for residents and travelers like us.

Book yourself in any MPTDC hotel for an experience that will only bring joy. Spacious rooms, delicious food, and great hospitality will make your stay enjoyable. No matter which hotel you stay, you will always be surrounded by greenery. Panchmari has a unique format of sightseeing - your vehicle is an open gypsy, with a guide. The locals are expert drivers, assuring safety and some interesting chat. The driver – guide duo is a great host, ensuring your places of interest are visited in the stipulated time.

Way towards Bee Falls
The way towards Bee Falls
Bee falls
Bee Falls

Bee falls: Save your hotel water, bath in the chilling waterfall that hits you like a bee sting. A great photo opt. Lots of monkeys, rocks and a refreshing waterfall. The sound and sight are soothing even if you don't wish to step under the fall. Spare half a day to reach – enjoy – relish this fall. Note: It takes efforts to reach and return from the waterfall. Knee problems, age-related issues might exhaust you. Carry clothes, water, and light refreshments. Beware of monkeys.

Jata Shankar Caves: As you step move towards the sight you will experience serenity. Religious insights, a Ram Setu stone, Mahadeo temple, and silence. Peace is what you should experience here. Sit back and relax. Post 3 pm is the best time to visit Jata Shankar caves. You can stay here till the sunsets. The visit will be etched in your memory. Don’t forget to touch the Ram Setu stone, which floats. This is one of the stones which helped Lord Ram reach Sri Lanka.
Note: An amazing location for photo opts, your creativity will come to great use, here.

Bison Lodge: Animal & culture world. The models, text, and concept are simple yet appealing. Read information aloud, talk to the animals, and ask for some selfies! Kids will learn and adults will brush up their memories. This site should not take more than an hour. It’s an indoor exhibition hence afternoons are the best time to visit.

Zero Point: During sightseeing, you will surely pass Zero Point. Ask your guide about it to get an interesting explanation. It is not a spot, but only a spot.

Padmini Lake: An evening handout site. Boat ride, horse ride, and Zipline that goes across the lake. The moment I arrived at the lake I notice the zip line. All thrilled I and my 10 year old son got into the suit, crossed the lake in a small motorboat, climb up to the top of a structure to be launched on the zip. Every emotion gushed through my mind in seconds, my heart was in my mouth and I stepped down just before the launch. It isnearly a kilometer before you land on the other side of the lake. But once launched it’s simply thrilling. Loved the adrenal rush. A must must must try!

Pandav Garden: Green amongst the green. Pandav garden has Pandav caves adjoining to it, hence the name. It is said that Pandavas lived here during their exile. From the Pandav caves, scenic view of Panchmari and the beautiful garden is worth the climb. Colorful flowers and shades of green is a delight to nature lovers. A visit around 10 am is recommended, before the sun hovers over your head.

Christ Church: The church is noticed the moment you pass by it. Its architecture has traction. Though old and kind of isolated, a close walk around its periphery seem a must. An 18th century structure is still standing strong and it holds prayers every Sunday.
